Welcome EUNIC Sri Lanka

EUNIC Global is pleased to announce that the directors of European cultural institutes based in Sri Lanka (Institut Français, Goethe-Institut and the British Council) signed a cluster agreement on the 20th October 2014 and, as such, created EUNIC Sri Lanka. This network unites the perspective of joint projects organised by European cultural institutes in the same location – the country’s capital, Colombo – who will also be eligible to receive special funds for common projects.

Like all EUNIC Clusters, the Sri Lanka Cluster will operate within the umbrella network of EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) and it aims to create effective partnerships and networks between EU National Institutes for Culture in order to improve and promote cultural diversity and understanding between European societies and to strengthen international dialogue and cultural cooperation with countries outside Europe.

The Presidency of EUNIC Sri Lanka has been entrusted to the director of Goethe Institut, Mr. Björn Ketels. The representatives of the Institut Français and the British Council are Mr. Claude Alexandre Martinez and Mr. Keith Davies, respectively.
